Tera Sailors win the Team Racing Champonships!!

A Fantastic Team Racing Championships was held this weekend at Oxford Sailing Club. 16 teams were entered in the Junior Section, using RS Fevas. Each Team consisted of 6 sailors. It was great to see so many Tera sailors (current and former) included in teams from all over the country and the RS Tera Class Association had entered two teams to represent the Association, comprised of the top ranking sailors of 2016 from the Pro and Sport Fleets, aptly named Team TeraProdigy and TeraSporticus.
with light winds on day one, both teams were doing well in the round robin phase of the competition; this was continued on day two before heading into the group stage. With both teams making the top 6 of Gold fleet the Tera sailors were truly making their mark!
The wind had built to a strong force 4 and the group stage ended with TeraSporticus in a truly respectable 6th place overall and TeraProdigy going on to the knockout stages.
with the semi finals best of 3 races, TeraProdigy won in style 2-0 putting them through to the final against Naughty Guls and Buoys, a Hayling team with many Tera sailors. With a strong crowd in support for a best of 5 finale, the racing was fantastic with true team tactics and excellent sailing skills demonstrated by both teams, but TeraProdigy clinched the final 3-1.
Congratulations to all involved and especially to Team TeraProdigy. Thanks go to the excellent team managers Mike Taylor and Robbie Wilson who provided fantastic support up to and throughout the event. Alot to live up to for next years teams!
Thanks also to the RYA and Eric Twinames Trust for organising a fantastic event and Oxford Sailing Club for having us.
